Covered Wagon Resort, just off I‑90 between Sturgis and Rapid City, is a quiet, budget-friendly option with a mix of tent sites, cabins and cottages. Tent sites are level and well kept, cabins and cottages are clean and comfortable, and staff are consistently described as friendly and helpful (including late check-ins). Amenities include a playground, pool and an on-site restaurant, and the park is pet friendly. Practical trade-offs: some RV sites are uneven and may require leveling blocks, the bathhouse is small and could use updating, and snack/beverage choices outside the restaurant can be limited.
