What campers say
Clear Creek Recreation Area is a well-kept, scenic park with clear water, trails, bike routes and a designated swimming beach. Campsites are generally level with picnic tables, fire rings and electric/water hookups; waterfront sites are considered premium while Bear and Fawn loops are woodier and Fox and Hoot Owl offer some water views. Practical tradeoffs include limited or timed showers, no sewer hookup at individual sites (dump station at exit), strict check-in/parking rules, and ticks after wet weather. Visitor reports about staff are mixed, ranging from helpful and professional to unfriendly or over‑enforcing rules.
