One positive here is its location. One negative is the traffic noice from all the traffic close by. It's located on the corner of two busy intersections. The sites are mostly nice and large. The one bathroom I walked into was rather un- kept. The dump station and water fill station was nice and large. One note: the entrance is located off Airport Way on a access road. Just look for the KFC and go behind that to the west.

What campers say
Chena River Wayside is a casual, affordable campground close to Fairbanks conveniences like Safeway and Fred Meyer. Sites range from primitive to water-and-electric hookups and many are spacious and tucked among trees with river access, trails and boat-launch options. Facilities include flush toilets, sinks and a dump station; a laundromat with showers is nearby. Tradeoffs: the park sits under an airport approach and near roadways, so aircraft and traffic noise can be frequent. Some visitors report spotty cleanliness and occasional safety concerns, so expect basic amenities and exercise usual campsite caution.
