We stayed here for a month and would return again. Full hookups, extra large wooded sites, wi-fi throughout park, laundry, showers, clubhouse, store. If you like the feeling of camping in the woods, this place is for you! Walk to the dock on the Chassahowitzka River and fish, rent a kayak or boat, or just sit on one of the benches available. In winter you'll see manatees swimming around and can kayak among them. Our only problem was we were there during no-see-um time! Nice area, lots of stores nearby, also the Homosossa Springs Wildlife Park which is a great place to visit.

What campers say
Chassahowitzka River Campground is popular for kayaking, easy boat launch access, and frequent manatee and bird sightings, especially in colder months. Campsites are wooded and reasonably spaced, with nearby docks and rentable kayaks; staff are generally friendly and helpful. Expect trade-offs: mornings can be peaceful but mid-day and weekends often become crowded, with noisy boats and loud music reported. Sites are sandy (bring a brush) and sand fleas and noseeums can be a nuisance. A few guests noted billing or phone-help issues and mixed experiences with rule enforcement. Arrive early to avoid crowds and plan for sand and insects.
