Burning Bear Campground is a small, quiet Forest Service site surrounded by pines with easy access to nearby trailheads (Burning Bear and Abyss/Lake) and short drives to Grant and Bailey. Sites are generally roomy and shaded—outer-loop sites feel more private—but some pads are sloped and larger rigs may need careful leveling. Vault toilets are reported clean and a friendly camp host sells firewood; bring groceries and water since nearby services are limited. Occasional nuisances mentioned include aircraft noise, yellow-jackets, sporadic trash at some sites and intermittent water-pump issues.
