What campers say

Bonito Campground offers spacious, well‑maintained sites set on fine black lava‑rock gravel and easy access to nearby trails and Sunset Crater Volcano. Campground hosts are frequently noted as friendly and attentive, and restrooms are kept very clean with flush toilets. Practical tradeoffs include dusty, rocky surfaces that can get hot in summer, limited cell service, and no hookups or showers. Sites are generally roomy and partly shaded, and the loop is good for short walks. Expect a quiet, well‑managed forested setting, while planning ahead for summer heat and basic facilities.
