What campers say

Big Springs Campground (Mammoth Lakes area) is a low‑cost, well‑maintained dispersed-style site with a suggested donation (about $10/night) and an on-site camp host. Amenities commonly noted include pit toilets, bear boxes, fire rings, picnic tables and a stream or natural spring running by the campground that supports fishing and scenic access. Sites vary in size, shade and privacy and many can accommodate large RVs. It’s popular with off‑roaders, so generator noise can be an occasional downside. Services are limited — restrooms are few and there may be no regular garbage pickup — and seasonal closures occur.
