Big Bear Lake Camplands is a large, amenity-rich campground with a water park/slide, mini golf, on-site store/mini-mart, two lakes, mountain biking and hiking trails, and organized events. The gated community with staffed security feels safe, and many visitors praise the trails and clean facilities such as hot showers. Tradeoffs noted by several guests include occasional trash or debris at sites and inconsistent check-in communication — new arrivals may receive little orientation. Noise from late-night parties and close lot spacing can reduce quiet and privacy. Sites and rentals fill up quickly, so advance booking is recommended.
