Bell Bay Campground is a pleasant Forest Service site perched above the lake with many shaded, spacious sites and attractive lake views. It's off-grid with no hookups and basic facilities, with clean vault toilets maintained by attentive hosts. The lower loop offers the best water views and two sturdy docks, making it appealing to boaters; however, access to the shoreline is steep and there's no beach, so carrying kayaks or paddleboards can be difficult. Roads in are narrow and winding, and RVers should note limited maneuvering room. Expect a quiet, rustic stay; insect activity can be noticeable in summer.
