Barnes Field is a roomy group campground with well-spaced sites, large fire rings and multiple picnic tables—good for families or groups. Amenities include a pump for potable water, pit/porta toilets, a bear‑proof dumpster and parking for cars, trailers or small RVs; there’s no site electricity or showers and an off‑site dump is available nearby for a fee. The setting is close to Pinkham Notch, Mt. Washington and town, and often offers dark skies and quiet nights, though organized groups or summer programs can generate late‑evening noise. Reservations are wise in peak season; off‑season is often first‑come with self‑registration.
