Drive thru (bike) review. We stayed at the USFS Arrowhead Campground 2 miles down the road. If you need a site with electric then Arrowhead is the place. All sites here are non-electric. All the sites are huge as far as size. All the sites, including the last 2-3 miles of the access road are gravel. A few of the sites are waterfront. Large shady forest setting. Nice restrooms with free showers. Water to fill your RV is available, but no dump station. You can use Arrowheads dump station 2 miles down the road. Most sites are level or close to it. When I rode thru there was no one there as it was mid-week except the camp host.

Badin Lake Campground offers easy lake access and many sites with lake views, picnic tables and grills; a few group sites provide roomy space and central fire rings. Campsites are mostly unserviced (no electrical or water hookups) and tent pads are gravel, so bringing extra padding and supplies is helpful. Restrooms and showers are available but cleanliness and hot-water reliability vary. Sites tend to sit close together, so noise from neighbors and weekend crowds is possible, though many visitors find the park quiet and family-friendly during weekdays. Expect a short unpaved drive and occasional boater-related litter in some areas.

Badin Lake Campground in Uwharrie National Forest. Bordering the lakeshore and under the shade of pines and hardwoods, Badin Lake Campground offers a year-round retreat for swimmers, boaters, and anglers. The campground has 35 non-electric sites for tent and camper trailer camping. Some sites are located on the lakeshore. Each site has a table, grill, lantern post, fire ring, and tent pad. There are 4 water spigots/hydrangs for drinking water located in the campground. Flush toilets and hot showers are located in both the upper and lower loops. * (dump station 2 miles away at the Arrowhead USFS Campground). Fee stations are located at the entrance of both loops.

Directions: On Hwy 109 North, go to Mullinix Rd. just past Macedonia Church. Turn left (from 109 S. turn right on to Mullinix Rd.) and continue past Horse Camp. Turn right on FR 544 for 1.8 miles, then turn Right onto FR 597 for 0.1 miles. Then turn left on FR 597A. Take the road to the left leading to Badin Lake Campground (2 loops).
