Angostura Recreation Area is a well-maintained reservoir campground with sandy beaches, miles of shoreline and a long paved hike/bike trail, making it popular for boating, swimming and fishing. Camp loops vary from shaded gravel sites with picnic tables, fire rings and electric hookups to small loops with playgrounds and shower houses; a marina and weekend food options are on site. Rangers and hosts are generally friendly and the grounds are kept very clean. It's popular on weekends - reservations are advised - and some trail sections are steep, which can limit stroller or wheelchair access. A small daily parking fee applies.
