Allis State Park is a small, quiet campground with well-kept sites, several lean-tos, and friendly staff. A short but sometimes steep trail leads to a refurbished fire tower with wide panoramic views. Camp amenities include flush restrooms, coin-operated showers, grills, picnic tables, drinking water, and on-site firewood/ice sales; a large group site can comfortably host sizable parties. Practical tradeoffs: access involves a long, unpaved road and there are only a few trails, so it feels remote, and summertime mosquitoes can be plentiful. Facilities are functional though occasionally a bit dated.
