    Happy Trails RV Park in Four Oaks North Carolina provides full hookup RV sites in a park located near Interstate 95. The park caters more towards longer term guests. Relatively new (opened in 2017/2018) the property can handle most any sized RV. A no frills option that directly contrasts with the Raleigh Oaks Park located across the roadway. Packed gravel roads and parking pads in an open setting.

    Essentially a park built in someones backyard.

    Seahaven Marine RV Park in Sneads Ferry North Carolina provides full hookup RV camping for short term, weekly and longer stays. Located in a quiet hamlet at the base of the bridge leading over to the “back-gate” to Camp Lejeune (the largest Marine base in the US) the park has a unique location loved by guests. the park has direct access to the New River via a paved boat launch, wet slips and the water access in their protected marina.

    Packed gravel roads and mowed grass sites the park is family owned and operated. A no frills park the location prides itself on peacefulness, serenity and access to the water. A professional fishing charter captain operates from their dock and guides guests on various fishing trips out into the Atlantic. RV sites include backins, pull-thrus, and pull alongs. Self contained units only. The park does have a dog run.

    The park is located within walking distance of world famous fish houses (the source of your “fresh fish” in New York, Chicago and elsewhere) guests can go and purchase very inexpensive fresh catches as they come off the boat.

    In addition Seahaven Marina RV Park is situated a short drive from Topsail island and beaches (accessed via bridge over the intracoastal waterway). The access to Topsail is technically to the North Topsail Island area which is less crowded than the Surf City area.

    As an interesting side tail this area was the home of many pirates back in the swashbuckling days and this specific area was known as one of Blackbeard’s hangouts.

    Badin Lake Campground in Uwharrie National Forest. Bordering the lakeshore and under the shade of pines and hardwoods, Badin Lake Campground offers a year-round retreat for swimmers, boaters, and anglers. The campground has 35 non-electric sites for tent and camper trailer camping. Some sites are located on the lakeshore. Each site has a table, grill, lantern post, fire ring, and tent pad. There are 4 water spigots/hydrangs for drinking water located in the campground. Flush toilets and hot showers are located in both the upper and lower loops. * (dump station 2 miles away at the Arrowhead USFS Campground).  Fee stations are located at the entrance of both loops.

    Directions: On Hwy 109 North, go to Mullinix Rd. just past Macedonia Church. Turn left (from 109 S. turn right on to Mullinix Rd.) and continue past Horse Camp. Turn right on FR 544 for 1.8 miles, then turn Right onto FR 597 for 0.1 miles. Then turn left on FR 597A. Take the road to the left leading to Badin Lake Campground (2 loops).

    Arrowhead Campground has 48 sites for Tent/RV camping. Sites #46-#49 are tent only.  34 sites have electrical hookups.  All sites, except for site #23, are accessible to people with disabilities. Each site has a table, grill, fire ring, lantern post and parking spur. The campground has 6 spigots/hydrants located around the campground for drinking water. A bathhouse with flush toilets, hot showers, and sinks is available. There is a family restroom located at the front of the bathhouse if privacy is desired. A 0.75-mile paved bicycle/walking path loops around the campground. The fee-station is located at the entrance to the campground. There is a dump station located across from the pay station.

    Directions: From Troy, take NC 109 north for 10 miles and turn left on Mullinix Road (NC 1154). Follow Mullinix Road for two miles to a “T” interesection. Turn right at “T” onto Forest Road (FR) 544 and travel about two miles and turn left on FR 597. Go 0.6 mile, turn right on FR 597B to the entrance of the campground.

    Stoney Fork RV Campground in Ferguson North Carolina provides 50 amp full hookup RV camping sites in a remote wooded setting. Situated on a historic homestead the property is open year round. Sites have picnic tables and fire rings. Back in sites capable of handling larger units. Out of the way location 9 sites.  Extended stay welcome, fiber optic and laundry room available.  Note: Bath house is closed due to COVID

    Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park Camp-Resort in Bostic North Carolina is a new, as of 2018, campground. A remodeled Girl Scout Camp property the location will open in 2018 with tent camping, cabins and glamping. A family friendly location the park has an onsite lake and scheduled activities. the location will be adding RV sites, and building out the amenities, through the next few years.

    Families will be able to enjoy numerous activities, including a jumping pillow and jumping pad; canoeing and kayaking; swimming in the lake; outdoor movies, playground; scavenger hunts, volleyball, basketball, hiking trails, horseshoes, arts & crafts, Gaga ball, gem-mining, “Hey Hey” Wagon Rides, Candy Bar Bingo and dance parties.

    Fishing Creek RV Park in Enfield North Carolina provides 100 full hookup RV sites in an open setting. Opened in 2018 the park provides both short and long term RV camping options.

    Herring RV and Mobile Village near Goldsboro North Carolina provides full hookup RV sites for short and long term stays. Pull thru and back-in sites available the park is for self contained units only. 29 sites in total the park caters an adult audience of workers who need a comfortable and safe park. Owner lives on site and likes it quiet. Rural setting.

    The sites are set on former mobile home pads providing ample space in an open grassy setting.

    McGregor Lakes RV Resort near Marion Montana offers full hookup RV camping in a rural wooded setting in north western Montana. The recently opened location has dirt roads and parking pads that can easily accommodate any size RV. Popular to the folks that have found it already as a summer time destination the RV park is surrounded by forest (signs warn of the local grizzlies) and across US 2 from the main resort located lakeside.

    Large pull thrus and backin RV sites. A small playground, walking trail, restrooms, showers and firepits combine to make this spot a nice place to stay. The only downside is that the roadways, when dry, are very dusty and even slow moving traffic thru the park whips up a good little dust cloud.

    Very inexpensive the rate for a month is downright cheap.

    The Inn across the street has a store and popular restaurant.

    Rocky Ridge Family Campground near Thurmond North Carolina offers primitive tent and RV camping in a rural setting near Stone Mountain State Park. 12 camping areas on mowed grass with gravel drives. A natural lake and surrounding forest provide quiet respite.

    Jones Station RV Park in Mebane North Carolina offers full hookup RV sites offers the best of the great outdoors while still being close to plenty of local area attractions. You’ll never be short of things to do!

    Cove Creek Group Campground in Brevard North Carolina is a US Forest Service Campground operated by the Cradle of Forestry. Reservable for groups this campground has both shaded and open sites located up a dirt road. The road crosses a creek/ river and is best suited to higher clearance vehicles.
