    Hastings Campground is located on Route 113 near the shore of Evans Brook in western Maine. It is situated in a rustic and remote part of White Mountain National Forest, not far from the towns of Gilead Me and Gorham, New Hampshire. Activities include fishing, hiking and mountain biking. The White Mountains boast pristine forests, clear mountain streams and rivers and the tallest peaks in the Northeast. The forest encompasses nearly 800,000 acres in New Hampshire and western Maine, and is one of the most popular in the country.

    Campsites are shaded and well-separated around a single loop. Accessible restrooms and a hand pump for water are provided within the facility. The campground also has a large, open play area for kids.
    The campground sits in a mixed hardwood forest at the base of Mt. Hastings and a short distance from Evans Brook and the Wild River. The forest is home to many species of northern wildlife, including moose, white-tailed deer and black bear. Almost 200 species of birds, including the rare Bicknell’s Thrush, live in the White Mountains.
    Within a short drive, campers can access numerous hiking trails of various levels, including a short, 2-mile trail that is great for families, as well as a more rigorous 9-mile trail on Mt. Hastings. Fishing is available in nearby streams and rivers, and the famous Appalachian Trail is about a half-hour drive from the campground. The area also hosts four alpine and five Nordic ski areas, which provide year-round recreation opportunities such as skiing, hiking, mountain biking, outdoor concerts, interpretive trails, special events and regional and national skiing and snowboarding races.

     

    Coastal Breeze RV Resort in Rockport Texas provides full hookup RV sites in a recently opened high end RV resort destination. Concrete roads and sites with grass between sites the minimum distance between sites is 22′! Pull thru sites up to 130 feet in length and backin sites up to 55 feet in length. Guests have access to restrooms with showers, a clubhouse, gym, a freshwater pool over looking Salt Lake, a large dog run, fishing lake/pier. Both long term and short term rates available the short term rates run in the $60+ per night range while monthly rates are significantly more affordable. Wifi is available.

    Located on Salt Lake, which is a paddle lake that leads out to Copano Bay and on to Aransas Bay for close by fishing and boating. When the second phase is complete the park will have 300 sites.

    Pocket Parks Acadia East Campground in Gouldsboro Maine provides 6 hike-in style campsites in a privately operated campground situated on 9 acres. A tent only campground there is a parking area near the front where guests park and then hike-in a short distance to their campsite. Located immediately off US 1 near the Winter Harbor and Schoodic Woods area of Acadia National Park. Each campsite has a unique name and feel with sites named: Acadia Mtn Campsite, Cadillac Mtn Campsite, Thunder Hole Campsite, and Wonderland Campsite. The sites are self serve with booking online.

    Sandy Pines Campground in Kennebunkport Maine offers full, partial and primitive hookup RV camping opening summer of 2017. The only campground in the popular resort destination area also offers cabins, glamping tents and seasonal sites. In addition the park is also selling park models.

    Located in a wooded setting off ME 9 near Goose Rocks Beach. The planned and under development high end destination will include a farm stand, a general store, an ice cream cart, a lobster pound, a game room, and a “hobby camper” for crafting. For outdoor adventurers, there’ll be a saltwater pool, ropes courses, bikes and pedal carts, paddleboards for rent, and a kayak launching point.

    Schoodic Woods Campground in Acadia National Park 3 miles southeast of Winter Harbor Maine offers partial (electric and water) and primitive (no hookup) RV and tent camping in the new area donated to Acadia National Park on the Schoodic Peninsula. This new campground opened in 2015 with 96 sites. Loop A offers large pull thrus to accommodate any size RV while Loop A provides smaller sites best suited to tent and small RV camping. Loop A has 20 amp electric at some sites while Loop B offers 20, 30, and 50 amp electric and water at most sites.

    Schoodic Woods Campground is a modern camping facility easily accessed for any size RV and has a mix of sun and shade. The type of camping facility not found anywhere else in the National Park System this special place includes miles of hiking and biking trails, close access to the ocean waters for kayaking and great road cycling opportunities. Winter Harbor is the closest town and is less touristy than the main Acadia National Park area allowing for a more down home feel to the region.
