Horsethief Reservoir Campground near Cascade Idaho is an Idaho Fish and Wildlife Managed Campground located along the shores of a remote fishing lake and reservoir. Primitive camping suitable for tents and RVs the destination is prized for its quiet location surrounded by forest. Excellent fishing in on the 5 mile max speed lake. As of 2017 the camping areas were handed over to the nearby YCamp for management and fee collection (used to be free… not anymore). Multiple loops located along the shores including backin sites. All roads are dirt in this area. Off-roaders can enjoy miles of trails along with hiking and mountain biking in addition to the lake-shore.
Big Wood River RV Park 1 mile north of Gooding Idaho is a city managed park offering partial hookup (water and electric) RV sites adjacent to ID 46 and a short distance from town. Not well known the newer facilities are convenient, easy to access and reasonably priced. First come first served there is a self pay kiosk. In addition a dump station is available in town (dump address 200 Block of 2nd Ave West). Reservations are only recommended during fair season (3rd week in August).
Located right near the fairgrounds the RV sites are concrete pads with backin and pull thru options.
Tenters are allowed BUT there are no restroom facilities or bathhouses on site.
Murtaugh Lake RV Park also known as “The Cove” Murtaugh Lake County Park near Twin Falls Idaho is a Twin Falls County Waterfront Park offering 10 partial hookup (water/ electric) RV sites adjacent to a recreational lake. The sites are being “shifted” to a new area under development and scheduled for opening in 2017/ 2018. Open for overnight and day use the lake is set in a rural area and the park is situated in a little peninsula into the lake. A scenic location the park is popular with locals. Restroom facilities are available but no dump station is. Open seasonally the lake allows for fishing, and water sports/ jet skiing. Advanced reservations are available by calling the park.
Lava Hot Springs City Center KOA in Lava Hot Springs Idaho offers full hookup RV camping in a newly remodeled (and undergoing additional upgrades) campground. Full hookup RV and tent camping sites located just north of downtown and immediately across the river from the Lava Olympic Swimming Pool and Park. This popular family friendly area draws crowds in from Utah and southern Idaho looking to enjoy the water play areas. A bounce pillow is located near the main office and multiple foot-bridges lead to the pool area (unrelated business = extra charge). paved roads with dirt parking pads and mowed grass surrounds. This KOA is not to be confused with the original Lava Hot Springs KOA located just to the east of town.
Ravenwood RV Resort in Athol Idaho provides full hookup RV sites in a rural setting close to Silverwood theme park. The newly built resort is easily accessed for any size RV. Paved roads with gravel parking pads and natural mowed grass surrounded by forest create a peaceful ambiance. The resort has some nice touches that will, when completed, make this a nicely appointed RV resort.
A family friendly park the sites have picnic tables but no fire rings. Ball courts are located near the entrance and the design of the park tucks the sites behind a small hill to suppress noise from the nearby highway. A pool is open seasonally. Current rates are a bit pricey (up to $50 per night for full hookup pull thru sites) but discounts are available.
As of 2016/ 2017 the resort is best suited to self contained campers since their restrooms and showers have not been completed.
Priest River Campground “Mudhole” near Priest River Idaho is a Corp of Engineers built and managed campground adjacent to the Priest River and Pend Oreille River. The campsites are situated in a heavily forested setting with large old growth trees surrounding all the sites. Large RVs can and do fit in here but caution is warranted for driving and parking in the sites. Tent campers are also welcomed and encouraged.
The location features a boat ramp, pier, swim beach, playgrounds and overall scenic location for a summer camping trip. Located just off US 2 there can be some road noise from the adjacent highway.
The sites are primitive with no hookups. Water spigots are located within the campground along with restrooms and showers. A dump station is located on site also. Paved roads with dirt gravel sites. Picnic tables and fire rings at each site.
The Hemlocks RV Park and Lodging near Moyie Springs Idaho offers full hookup RV camping in a wooded setting. Located in the extreme northern part of the state the park provides access to the many outdoor opportunities found along the US 2 corridor of Montana and Idaho. A laundry and showers are available along with reasonable rates and easy access. In addition tent sites are available.
Jefferson County Lake Campground near Rigby Idaho offers partial hookup RV and tent camping in a scenic area adjacent to a natural fresh water recreational lake. The popular location offers reasonable rates and a great place to recreate with family and friends. Reservations available the only downside is that some sites do have highway noise. Bathrooms, volleyball nets, playground equipment, a tennis court, sandy beaches, a lake slide, grassy areas, walking trails, a boat ramp for non-motorized boats, small shelters on a first come first serve basis outside the camping fee area, and large shelters by reservation only.
Cedar Grove RV Campground near Hayden Idaho offers a few full hookup RV sites in a wooded setting. Reasonably priced the park has been open for many years and is adjacent to a Dude Ranch. Only a hand full of sites available.
Baumgartner Campground near Mountain Home Idaho is a US Forest Service campground offering group campsites in the Sawtooth National Forest. Popular for its access to off-road trails and the hot springs fed pool all the sites are double or larger groups sites. Available for reservation the park was recently upgraded. Single sites may be available. Drinking water is available. Vault toilets.
Veterans Park RV Sites in Blackfoot Idaho offers 17 partial hookup (water and electric) RV sites in a city run park adjacent to the airport and greenbelt parks. Pull thru and back-ins available the park opened in 2016. Connected to multiple parks and the Snake River via multi-use trails visitors can enjoy a multitude of family friendly activities.
Weiser River Trail RV Park in Council Idaho offers full hookup RV and tent camping with direct access to the 85 mile long Weiser River Trail, making this the perfect spot in Central Idaho to enjoy all of your recreation activities. The summer months offer hiking, biking, walking or horse back riding on the trail. Skiing, snowmobiling, or big game in the fall. Adams county is also rich in valued natural resources such as gems and gold for the prospectors and rock hounds.
Montour Park Campground in Montour Idaho offers 12 primitive tent and RV camping sites in a rural area adjacent to the Payette River and Montour Wildlife Management Area. Max size 32′.
Canyon Springs RV Resort in Caldwell Idaho offers full hookup RV sites convenient to I-84. A brand new facility opened in August 2015 the park offers quality amenities to guests.
Sacajawea Inn in Salmon Idaho offers full hookup RV and tent camping adjacent to a inn on the south side of town.
Robin’s Roost Grocery Store and More RV Sites in Island Park Idaho offers 8 full and partial hookup RV sites for short and long term stays. All the sites are backins with very reasonable rates. The sites and area are unkempt with a few of the worst ones located right behind the grocery where they keep the trash. There is a fueling station on site and the only and main grocery store for the area.
Grand Mountain RV Park in Island Park Idaho offers full hookup RV sites catering to seasonal guests. Located across the road from the golf course.
Warm River Campground is located nine miles northeast of Ashton, Idaho, along the slow-moving Warm River at an elevation of 5,200 feet. Willows line the riverbanks and pine trees offer partial shade. Tubing and fishing for brook trout, rainbow trout, cutthroat trout, and whitefish are popular activities on the river. Numerous hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding trails are in the immediate area, leading to natural springs, waterfalls, old railroad lines and tunnels, all with beautiful scenery. No ATVs or OHVs allowed. Walk-in sites may be available, even if reservable sites are full. The bridge inside the camground which allows access to sites #6 thru #13 has the following weight limits. No RV over 30 feet in length and/or any single vehicle over 15,000 lbs. is permitted on the bridge. Part of the Caribou-Targhee National Forest (Forest Service) the campsites can be reserved.
Upper Coffeepot Campground in Island Park Idaho offers 14 partial (electric 20 30 50 amp) and primitive (no water, electric, or sewer) hookup RV and tent camping sites along a floatable section of Henry’s Fork of the Snake River. A mixed growth lodgepole pine forest provides partial shade and summer wildflowers are abundant. Henry’s Fork has great fly-fishing for rainbow and brook trout; tubing, canoeing, kayaking, and rafting are also popular on the river. Part of the Caribou-Targhee National Forest (Forest Service) the campsites can be reserved. Accessed road can be rough dirt / gravel with wash-board.
Riverside Campground near Island Park Idaho offers 56 primitive tent and RV camping sites in a quiet area along the banks of Henry’s Fork of the Snake River. Part of the Caribou-Targhee National Forest (Forest Service) the campground provides access to great fly-fishing for rainbow and brook trout; tubing, canoeing, kayaking, and rafting are also popular on the river. Wildlife can be frequently spotted throughout the area. Potable water and vault toilets. Sites can be reserved.
