Duckett Mill Campground is located on Lake Sidney Lanier. With over 692 miles of shoreline, the lake is well known for its aqua-blue water, spectacular scenery and variety of recreational activities. The lake has over 11 million visitors annually. Constructed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in the 1950s, Lake Lanier is a multi-purpose lake that provides for flood protection, power production, water supply, navigation, recreation and fish and wildlife management.

    The campground boasts 97 sites with water and electric hookup plus 14 tent-only sites. Restrooms/showerhouses, laundry facilities and a playground are among the amenities here.

    Duckett Mill Campground offers many outdoor recreation opportunities including fishing, swimming and bike riding. On the lake there are opportunities for wake boarding, kayaking, boating and much more. There’s also a swimming beach and a boat ramp (located just outside the campground) available for campers.

     

    Whitetail Ridge Campground is a waterfront facility on the western shore of West Point Lake, which spans parts of Alabama and Georgia. This man-made lake has 525 miles of shoreline that provide excellent opportunities for fishing, camping, boating and other recreational activities.

    Devencrest Travel Park in Albany Georgia provides full hookup RV sites. 110 total RV sites, 92 pull thrus, 8 comfort stations, can accommodate any size RV, full hookups, WiFi, Cable TV, showers, restrooms, laundromat, dump station, propane, fish ponds, picnic shelter, RV supplies, limited RV repairs, and tent sites.

    Towns Bluff RV Park in Hazlehurst Georgia provides full hookup RV sites.

    Towns Bluff Park and Heritage Center is located on the Altamaha River and the Bullard Creek Wildlife Management Area just eight miles north of Hazlehurst, Georgia, on Hwy. 221 N.  The Park is maintained by Jeff Davis County and abounds in open spaces and outdoor activities. The campground has 24 leveled spacious sites, a bathhouse, and a fire pit, and is located near the Altamaha River. There are also trails throughout the park that present visitors with beautiful views of the river and nature. The Heritage Center has a playground, a museum, and a meeting room, which seats about 60 people.

    Towns Bluff is pet friendly. For everyone’s safety, pets must be leashed during their visit.

    The Altamaha River, designated by the Nature Conservancy as one of the 75 “Last Great Places in the World,” boasts an ecosystem filled with wildlife, bird life and flora and fauna not seen anywhere else in Georgia.  Hunters will enjoy the white-tail deer, turkey and game birds, while nature lovers and photographers will embrace  sightings of birds like the bald eagle, swallow-tail kite, and the red-cockaded woodpecker.  Fishermen will catch a variety of fish including the bass, bream and catfish.

    Blue Ridge / Toccoa River KOA in Blue Ridge Georgia provides full hookup camping in an open setting. Park opened in 2020 and was built to modern KOA standards.

    The Toccoa River tumbles down from the Blue Ridge Mountains, flows into Lake Blue Ridge and right past this new KOA. Settle in with your choice of spacious sites, all with full hookups and free Wi-Fi. There’s a pool for your enjoyment, a pavilion for group get-togethers and Kamp K9 for your furry travel companions. You’ll find plenty of room to roam; the campground adjoins the new campus of the University of North Georgia.     Sprewell Bluff Park Campground in Thomaston Georgia provides RV and tent camping in a wooded setting adjacent to the Flint River. RV/Tent sites include a 30/50 amp, water, fire ring grill, and picnic table. 

    Hawkins Pointe is a brand new 6.4 acre park,  just south of the I-24 / I-75 split in Chattanooga across from the Tennessee Welcome Center at Exit #1 offering RV and Motorhome pull thru and back in spaces, with all the conveniences including 50 amp power, overnight,  and extended stay parking, for one of the southeast most popular destination points. We rent to only self contained campers and RV’s since there are no bath or showers available. RV storage and RV parking near Chattanooga, TN near Rossville, GA and near Fort Oglethorpe, GA.

     

    Safe Haven RV Park in Macon Georgia provides full hookup RV camping for short and long term stays. Suitable for any sized RV the park is close to Interstate 75 with packed gravel roads and parking pads surrounded by grass. The park has undergone improvements over recent years. The surrounding neighborhood is questionable but the RV park itself is well cared for.

    Multiple dining, fuel and supply options in the nearby area. Sites are surrounded by trees with most sites situated in the open. Rates are reasonable for nightly stays and inexpensive for weekly and monthly stays.

    From the park: At Safe Haven Rv Park we believe, “Home is where you park it and make it”. Not a destination park or anything fancy; though we do intend to have our old fishing pond restored by 2018 and other amenities as well. Until then if you are a traveler and need to rest we have a nice safe place to park close to the freeway exit.     JB’s RV Park in Georgia provides 8 full hookup RV sites set on mowed grass in an open rural setting. Sites can accommodate any sized RV with a packed dirt road and pull thru options. The park is priced to draw in monthly guests but overnight rates are not unreasonable. The park is located near a nuclear power plant.

    Diamond Lakes Regional Park Campground in Hephzibah Georgia provides full hookup RV campsites in a regional park. The newly opened facility has ample spacing between sites with backin pads. The roads and pads are paved. A bathroom with showers is available. Surrounded by forest the park is located in an urban area and is close to Augusta area attractions. the park has baseball fields, tennis courts, trails and library.

    Elko County Fairgrounds Campground in Elko Nevada provides partial hookup (water and electric) camping in a dirt lot on the north side of the fairgrounds. This camping area is really only suitable if you absolutely have to be here for an event; otherwise it is a poorly maintained spot immediate adjacent to the Interstate. Call for availability and access. The sites are backins on packed dirt (becomes very muddy in rain). Note the GPS coordinates take you to the gate for this area. No restrooms are available this area is for self contained units.

    River Falls at the Gorge RV Resort and Campground in Lakemont Georgia provides full hookup RV and tent camping in a natural and scenic setting. The park is noted for a pretty location close to area attractions. Sites are situated alongside the river in a shaded canopy of trees. Noting the trees the park also has treehouse camping options.

    Valley View RV Park east of Elko Nevada provides full hookup RV sites for an inexpensive rate. Mostly long term tenants the park also has overnight sites available. Situated between the frontage road, Interstate 80, and close to the railway the park does have noise. Dark night skies, easy access and cheap rates draw guest in to the park. Paved roads with packed gravel backin and pull thru sites. Pull thrus are buddy sites with opposing RVs sharing a grassy area.

    Shady Grove Campground near Cumming Georgia is a Forsyth County Park providing partial and primitive hookup RV and tent camping near the shores of Lake Lanier. The park has both the overnight areas and the day use areas including a beach and swim area, boat ramp with a courtesy dock, children’s playground, and restroom and shower facilities. The large park has paved roads and parking pads on multiple loops. As a county run park “intoxicants” are prohibited in the park. Advanced reservations can be made.

    A dump station is available for free to paying guests (a fee is charged for non-guests).

    Crossing Creeks RV Resort & Spa in Blairsville Georgia is a high end RV resort with sites for rent and sale. Large concrete parking pads can accommodate any size RV. Pull thru and backin sites with grass areas in between the park is located in a scenic mountain area surrounded by trees (although the RV park sites are in the open). A nicely appointed clubhouse, office, pool area and public areas provide guests with excellent amenities.

    Rates vary by season and length of stay (longer stays become progressively more reasonable).

    WildHorse Resort RV Park north of Elko Nevada offers 34 full hookup RV sites adjacent to a refurbished restaurant and small hotel. Convenient for anglers fishing the Wildhorse Reservoir. Pull thru sites are tucked back off the highway. The location is south of the reservoir and far from much of anything else. For campers looking to get away from it all this is a pretty good spot to do just that.

    Dames Ferry Park Campground near Juliette Georgia offers full-service and primitive campsites along beautiful Lake Juliette, where boaters can park alongside their campsite. Forested setting in a well kept Georgia Power owned location. Open March thru September.

    Note: 2019: After two years, one of the most beautiful sites in Monroe County is now open to the public for camping again.

    Georgia Power has transferred operation of the Dames Ferry Campground to the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, and High Falls State Park is now operating Dames Ferry as a satellite park.

    Bolding Mill Campground is an excellent choice for camping on Lake Sidney Lanier, offering plenty of comfortable amenities in addition to a well-kept facility. Visitors will enjoy fishing and boating on the lake as well as the lush picnic area and large swimming beach, perfect for families.

    The campground offers 88 sites with electric and water hookups (no sewer). There’s also nine tent-only primitive sites. Campground conveniences include a laundry facility, fishing pier, and restroom/showerhouses. Facilities outside of the campground but within Bolding Mill park include the playground, swim beach and boat ramp. There’s also two dump stations, inside and outside the campground which rotate use per year.

    The large swimming beach is concrete, which provides a gentle slope and ADA access for visitors. An on-site boat ramp and fishing pier provide access to many water activities. Land-based recreation features picnic shelters and playground area near the front of the park.

     

     

    Eastbank Campground on Lake Seminole near Bainbridge Georgia is a Corp of Engineers campground providing partial and primitive hookup RV and tent camping near the shores of a recreational lake. Reasonably priced, scenic and family friendly this campground is a popular choice.
