Camp Niantic Family Campground in Niantic Connecticut provides partial hookup RV and tent camping. Formerly a run down setting the park has received significant upgrades during the transition to a KOA. Plans are in works to improve the campsites too; currently they are best described as “rustic”. Pull thru and backin sites situated in a shaded setting. Picnic tables and fire rings are available. Just off I-95 the park is suitable for an overnight stay but they do target seasonal guests. Right near Rocky Neck State Park.
From the park: Conveniently located between the metropolises of New York and Boston, this tree-filled campground and its staff are busy making major improvements. Niantic / I-95 Exit 72 KOA features renovated bathrooms, laundry, store and office. New WiFi and cable TV systems are also among the list of new upgrades. RV guests will enjoy convenient new Pull-Thru Sites being added this year. In addition to the big campground changes, guests at this KOA also receive free pass to three different ocean beaches located nearby. Just 20 minutes away the quaint (and famous!) town of Mystic, Connecticut offers shopping, art galleries, museums and world renowned pizza. Closer to the campground, historic Niantic has it’s own eclectic mix of specialty shops, entertainment and dining waiting to be explored.
