    Riverwood RV Resort in Mancos Colorado is a brand new RV resort opened in 2018. The well designed and laid out resort has paved roads and concrete pads with luxury amenities. Pull thru and backin sites are available. the park is very reasonably priced with both daily and monthly rates available. Mancos has an old west feel and this park carries that tradition with a rustic yet modern appeal.

    Glenwood Springs West/Colorado River KOA Holiday in Silt Colorado provides full hookup RV camping in a newly developed park not far off Interstate 70. Easily accessed for any size RV the park has backin and pull thru sites with packed gravel roads and parking pads. A mix of short and long term stays this rural area of Colorado is a major oil producing area and has recently become home to a number of pot dispensaries. Adjacent to the Colorado River the park has sites that back up and overlook the flowing water. The KOA is center pieced by a large and fancy main office/ clubhouse/ restroom area, and pool (seasonal).

    CanyonSide Campground in Bellvue Colorado is located in Poudre Canyon with full hookup RV and tent camping set along the hillside overlooking the scenic river canyon. Surrounded by natural beauty the location is a destination to get away from cell and data connections to reconnect with nature. Fishing is available on the river and multiple access points in to the mountains are nearby. Use caution when navigating to the park by staying on major routes.

    Open seasonally the park offers 10 full hookup RV sites, 5 cabins, and two tent camping sections. Located between Fort Collins and Walden Colorado. RV sites are back in sites with concrete patio pads. Rates are $50 per day, $300 for the week and $650 for a month.

    Bear Creek Lake Indian Paintbrush Campground in Morrison Colorado is a city owned and run facility offering partial hookup (electric) RV and tent camping sites within a large park setting. Very reasonably priced ($25 per night) the campground is open seasonally (although cabins are available year round). A water fill and dump station are available for registered guests. Paved roads with pull thru and backin site options. Sites are packed gravel in an open setting with good space in between sites. Each site has a picnic table and fire ring.

    Bear Creek Lake Indian Paintbrush Campground offers guests immediate access to trails and the paved bike-way that allows access to the surrounding region. A swim area is available on the nearby reservoir. Scheduled events during the year keep the park busy on weekends.

    In addition to the main camping area there is also a group campground available.

    Bear’s Ears Campground at Elkhead Reservoir near Craig Colorado offers 16 primitive tent and RV camping sites adjacent to a recreational lake. Set in an open area on the southern end of the lake the campsites are large enough for big rigs and quaint enough for tent camping. Shade covers over the picnic tables, fire rings and a peaceful area. No utilities or water the campground does have two pit toilets.

    A boat launch is available on the western shores of the lake. Interior roads within the state managed property are all graded gravel. Reservations can be made online.

    Note: as of 2017 the state of Colorado has allocated $1.5M to building 30 more electric hookup RV and tent camping sites. Contact us if you learn of updates on this status.

    Palisade Basecamp RV Resort in Palisade Colorado offers full hookup RV camping. About 70 RV campsites, 19 tent sites by the river, more than a dozen cabins and about three suites in an existing house on the property. The park has a pool, hot tub, pet park, and kid’s playground.

    Packed gravel roads and parking pads with mowed grass surroundings. Some sites have concrete patios.

    Located in a rural agricultural area popular for wine tours the park, and Palisade, are situated at the base of the canyon leaving or entering the Grand Junction area on Interstate 70. The park is convenient to the interstate and this scenic area of Colorado.

    Base Camp Family Campground east of Alamosa Colorado along US 160 provides full hookup RV and tent camping. Large pull thru sites available. Located in a flat plains area with views of the surrounding mountains. Easy access for any size RV the park opened in 2017.

    Highland Marina RV Sites near Granby Colorado provides full and partial hookup RV sites for short and long term stays. The bulk of the sites are taken by long term trailers and mobile homes. There is a small row of partial hookup RV sites adjacent to the highway. This park is really rough around the edges.

    Lakeshore Mobile Home and RV Park in Granby Colorado caters to long term guests with full hookup sites. Situated on a single road cutting off the main highway the RV sites are on the left (north side) and the mobile homes are on the right. A bit rough around the edges. Dirt roads and site pads with mowed natural grass/ weeds.

    Olive Ridge Campground near Allenspark Colorado is a US Forest Service campground (Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forest) providing 56 primitive tent and RV camping sites in a well kept campground. Packed gravel roads and parking pads the sites are situated around multiple loops in a treed setting. Larger RVs can fit into this park with caution noted due to winding roads and trees.

    Reservations are available and recommended during season as this park acts as a backup for Rocky Mountain National Park campgrounds. Water spigots and bathrooms are available. Tent site pads for better sleeping, picnic tables and fire rings available.

    If you are unsure about driving into the campground there is a parking area out front that will handle any size RV; park and walk your route first.

    No dump station.

    Meeker Park Overflow Campground near Allenspark Colorado is a US Forest Service campground (Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forest) providing 29 primitive tent and RV camping sites in a wooded setting. Close to Rocky Mountain National Park this campground acts as a fallback for folks unable to get in to the National Park campgrounds. Dirt roads and sites this campground is a bit more rustic. Inexpensively priced the campground is managed by concessionaire. Not suitable to large RVs the roads within the campground (and the site pads themselves) are pot holed and rutted. A few of the sites are reasonably large and can accommodate bigger rigs if you want to chance it. Trails leave from the area.

    Sites have picnic benches and fire rings.

    No water or dump station the park is very basic.

    Horsetooth Inn and RV Park near Fort Collins Colorado offers full hookup RV sites (all backins) with views looking out over the Horsetooth Reservoir. Mostly long term guests a few short term sites may be available. Gravel roads and parking area the park is condensed and can be a bit tight to back in when everyone is around (weekends/ evenings). Just across the street is the Horsetooth County Park campgrounds and the lake. A small playground is available along with access to miles of trails around the lake. Sites are in an open setting.

    The Estes Park Campground at East Portal near Estes Park Colorado offers full, partial and primitive hookup RV and tent camping (RVs and trailers limited to 24′ due to trees and site length) in a wooded setting at 8300 feet. A public park this location has immediate access to hiking trails, mountain biking trails and fishing at East Portal Reservoir. Advanced reservations are available.

    The sites are very close together and not very well laid out. The roads inside the campground are steep, dusty and rutted. Located at the end of the road the location is very quiet and scenic.

    Meeker Riverbend RV Park in Meeker Colorado offers 10 full hookup pull thru RV camping sites a couple blocks from downtown and adjacent to the river. Sites are located adjacent to a mobile home community. Payment is handled by an iron ranger with daily, weekly and monthly rates available. No restrooms or showers this park is for self contained units only. The campground roads and sites are situated on packed river rock with grass separation. Shade trees are smartly placed. The park can accommodate large RVs.

    Hornsilver Campground near Red Cliff Colorado is located right off Highway 24 about 10 miles south of the town of Minturn, CO. It is directly across Hwy 24 from the Homestake Creek, which offers fishing opportunities. There are several trailheads off Homestake Road #703, which is about 1 mile south of the campground on Hwy.24. 7 primitive tent and RV sites that can accommodate up to a 30′ RV.

    Halfmoon Campground near Minturn Colorado located at the top of Tigiwon Road #707 near the boundary for the Holy Cross Wilderness in a forested setting; all wilderness regulations must be observed when traveling in the wilderness (foot and horse travel only). This campground is located at the trailheads for several hiking trails and is heavily used by hikers who are climbing Mount of the Holy Cross. Due to the nature of the Forest Road to the campground and the short parking spurs within the campground, the Halfmoon Campground is not suitable for most RVs. US Forest Service campground at over 10,000′. First come first served.
