Black Bear Campground in Girdwood Alaska is a US Forest Service (Chugach National Forest) campground providing 13 primitive tent and small RV camping sites just off Portage Road. Situated in a forested setting this campground is better suited to tent campers compared to the adjacent Walliwaw Campground. Seasonally open.

    Located near Portage Creek, which provides Class II whitewater opportunities for rafts and kayaks. Pit toilets and a hand pumped water well.

    Note: wildlife is abundant in this area. Follow all food and waste storage rules to keep yourself and other campers safe.

    Chena Lake Recreation Area near Faribanks and North Pole Alaska is a county managed park offering camping in 3 campgrounds: Lake Park, River Park, and the boating accessible only Island Area. The boating accessible area has 6 primitive first come first served sites. Between the other two campgrounds there are 80 total sites with no hookups. Potable water and restrooms are available during warmer months. Pull thrus are available.

    The Lake Park hosts three volleyball courts, one horseshoe pit, a playground, multiple day use picnic sites with tables and fire rings, two covered pavilions, two changing room/warm up buildings, two designated swimming areas with sandy beaches, a boat rental facility, two fishing docks (one handicap accessible), a lake boat launch, potable water stations, restrooms, and during winter ice fishing and miles of trials.

    The River Park is stretched along 4 miles of the south bank of the Chena River and hosts one volleyball court, one horseshoe pit, one covered pavilion, one changing room/warm up building, a 4.5 kilometer self guided nature trail, river boat launch, potable water stations, restrooms, and multiple day use picnic sites with tables and fire rings.

    Dyea Campground in Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park near Skagway Alaska provides 22 primitive tent and RV camping sites in a wooded setting near the ruins of the namesake town. Managed by the National Park the campground provides pit toilets, fire rings, picnic tables, and garbage receptacles are provided.

    Williwaw Campground near Girdwood Alaska is a US Forest Service managed park that offers primitive hookup (no water, sewer, or electric connections) RV and tent camping in an idyllic area beside Williwaw Creek. The campground boasts prime fishing, hiking and wildlife watching. Next to the campground is the Williwaw Salmon Viewing Area, a top-notch spot for watching salmon. In August, visitors can see these fish spawning in impressive numbers through the translucent waters.  The area is a great place to view the glaciated valley and the Portage Glacier. Over the past 80 years the glacier calved large icebergs into Portage Lake, located just east of the campground.

    RJC Kenai RV Park in Kenai Alaska offers primitive (no water, sewer, or electric) hookup directly along the waterfront in this famous fishing destination. Adjacent to the boat docks.

    Mendenhall Lake Campground near Juneau Alaska offers full, partial, and primitive (no water, electric, or sewer) hookup RV and tent camping in a US Forest Service managed campground. With a view of the Mendenhall Glacier, and is about 13 miles from downtown Juneau. Sites include: 9 full-service RV sites with electricity, water and sewer hook-ups; 9 partial-service RV sites with electricity and water hook-ups; 51 basic-service sites; 7 sites in a separate walk-in backpacker area with covered shelter for cooking; 48 sites that accommodate camping units larger than 30 feet. All of the sites have tent pads, picnic tables and fire grills that meet accessibility standards. Water faucets and vault toilets are dispersed throughout the campground, and two bathhouse units with flush toilets and hot showers. A central dump station is on site. The campground host and garbage dumpster is near entrance. Firewood is rarely provided and it is best to bring your own (no pallets). The maximum stay is 14 days. Situated in a forest setting.

    Auk Village Campground north of Juneau Alaska offers 11 primitive tent and small RV campsites adjacent to the ocean waters. Situated in a forested setting sites are best suited to tent camping. This US Forest Service campground requires digital or phone reservations only and payment can only be made by credit card or debit card. The Tongass National Forest.

    Chena Hot Springs Resort in Fairbanks Alaska provides primitive (no water, electric, or sewer) hookup RV and tent camping adjacent to this remote hot springs resort. Paved road access.

    Port Chilkoot Camper Park in Haines Alaska provides full hookup RV and tent camping in a wooded setting near The Hotel Halsingland. Best suited to smaller RVs.

    Fishing Hole Campground in Homer Alaska is a city managed primitive RV and tent campground next to a fishing hole on the spit. Adjacent to the Pier One Theatre.
